Editorial policy

Selection

We list only hardware wallets from manufacturers with:

• At least three years of track record
• Publicly available security documentation
• Active firmware maintenance
• Sales through their own webshop or authorised resellers

Manufacturers without independent security analysis or with a history of loss-causing incidents are not included.

Update frequency

All prices and specifications are reviewed at least every quarter. When a manufacturer launches a new model, we update within four weeks. When a model is discontinued, we mark it and link to the successor.

Our star rating weights:

• Security (chip certification, open source, audit history): 40%
• Usability (display, app, setup): 25%
• Price relative to competitors: 20%
• Coin support: 10%
• Manufacturer track record: 5%

We publish the specific score breakdown on each review for full transparency.
